Moroccan - Jordanian high joint commission convenes in june
Jordan-Morocco, Politics, 5/8/2001

The Moroccan-Jordanian high joint commission will hold a meeting in Amman next June 9-10, under the co-chairmanship of the two countries' Prime Ministers, Abderrahmane Youssoufi and Ali Abou Raghib.

The commission will examine mechanisms to enhance bilateral cooperation, reported the Jordanian news agency PETRA, quoting a governmental source.

The meeting will also discuss the implementation of the free trade area related accords and the extension of the list of tax-exempted products.

The establishment of free trade areas between Arab states is a step towards the establishment of a common Arab market. The latest Arab summit held in Amman in March had set year 2005 as a deadline to set up this common Arab Market and ten Arab Mediterranean countries, including Jordan and Morocco, are meeting this Tuesday in Rabat to look into the project to set up an Arab free trade area.
