International pilots warns against jumping to conclusions in air crashes
Egypt, Local, 5/7/2001
International Pilots Federation termed the investigations concluded by US authorities as not abiding by the normal procedures in Airplane crashes.
"US National Transport Safety Board NTSB has jumped to conclusions and did not follow the internationally accepted regulations in the EgyptAir 990 plunge," the Federation said.
NTSB did not take into consideration other possible causes of the accident such as technical failure in the tail group. Other planes of the same model have had formerly the same technical failure.
Since the beginning of investigations, the federation warned against restoring to the easiest solution and lay the blame on the co-pilot, instead of conducting honest investigations.
