Morocco- Niger cooperation in water resources management probed in Rabat
Morocco-Niger, Politics, 5/5/2001

Means to consolidate cooperation between Morocco and Niger in matters of water resources management were surveyed at a meeting in Rabat Friday between Moroccan minister of equipment, Bouamor Taghouan and Niger's minister of rural development and hydraulic resources, Akoli Dawel.

The visiting official expressed his country's wish to benefit from Morocco's experience in water management as Niger is devising a program to build small dams, conduct water prospecting works and drill wells.

The two sides also discussed cooperation in vocational training.

Akoli Dawel invited the Moroccan official to attend a round table on water and sanitation to be held in Niamey May 28 through 31.

Under a protocol of cooperation signed in July 1998, several nationals from Niger benefited from training session in Morocco on roads construction and water management.
