A foreign tour for the Emir of Bahrain

The ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa will head for France to hold talks concerning the situation in the Gulf, the ME peace process and bilateral relations.

In April, Sheikh Hamad said he will hold a tour in Europe and the US during which he will seek to attract investments in his country after vast political reforms have been introduced.

He added that Bahrain, which is the financial and banking center for the Gulf and the other Gulf states, had availed the appropriate environment suitable for foreign investments.

Sheikh Hamad who assumed power in his country in march 1999 after the death of his father had pardoned political prisoners and exiled persons and canceled emergency laws and a vote was made on a document that calls for an elected parliament.
