Mitchell Commission and the Palestinians
Palestine, Politics, 5/4/2001

the U.S. led Mitchell Commission of Inquiry into the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Intifada and continuing violence in the Occupied Territories has recommended the increase in the number of UN observers in occupied Hebron.

The Hebrew- language Israeli radio said that the Commission which on Wednesday completed its fact- finding mission over the eruption of confrontation between the Palestinians and the Israeli soldiers and settlers has prepared its report to this effect and it will submit it to the Palestinians and to the Israeli government to get their views on it.

A source close to the Commission said that the Commission will recommend several measures in order that such confrontation will not be repeated in future.
