Egypt Sudan to discuss ending entry visas requirements
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 5/4/2001

The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has stressed that talks between Omar Hassan al-Bashir and the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stressed during their expected meeting in Cairo in the mid of next week will concentrate on relations between the two states, especially the agreement to reopen consulates in the two states.

Also, they will seek to open sea and river crossing and facilitate the movement of persons and commodities between them and the possibility of abrogating entry visas.

In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Sahafi al-Dawli issued on Thursday, the Sudanese foreign minister explained that the visit of President al-Bashir to Cairo will witness the signing of trade and economic agreements aiming at making a qualitative turning point towards cooperation and integration between the two states.

He noted that President al- Bashir's visit to Cairo was due in March, but postponed until the new date ( May) because of the preoccupation of President Mubarak in several foreign visits.
