American temptation to Arafat

News reports issued in Paris said on Wednesday that the US ambassador in Tel Aviv Martin Indyk asked Arafat the need to postpone his visit to Damascus, for inviting him to visit Washington and meet with the US President George Bush and members of his administration, noting that this is because of Washington's fears that this visit will result in alienating Arafat from the axis of co-ordination with Cairo and Amman and rather joining reconciliation tracks with the Palestinian opposition groups as well as approaching closely the Syrian- Iranian track.
