The "Say Yes" campaign for Children said Carol Bellamy UNICEF, Executive Director in a media chat over the weekend has about ten components that covers a broad range of issues that concern the welfare of children.
According to Bellamy, the program is aimed at mobilizing effort from a broad constituency of stakeholders.
She disclosed that people who care for children and the NGOs in this field are the prominent actors.
Said Bellamy, "put children first, leave no children out, care for every child, fight for HIV/AIDS, educate every child.
Bellamy told newsmen that the campaign is more than a simple sign-up-pledge, but a global movement to build a groundswell of support that will push leaders to live up to these commitments at forthcoming September United Nations General Assembly Session on Children.
It is intended to galvanize action at all levels of society, from political leaders to ordinary citizens, and in particular children to focus attention on the issues tat face children today.
