Morocco, Economics, 5/1/2001

The improvement of the labor class situation depends on the promotion of the private sector and the enforcement of necessary reforms, employment minister, Abbas Al-Fassi, said on Monday.

The improvement of the labor class situation depends on the promotion of the private sector and the enforcement of necessary reforms in administration, justice, real estate, taxes as well as on the consolidation of democracy, El Fassi told the press.

The minister also voiced satisfaction over the government's social action, terming the balance-sheet as positive, despite difficulties facing the government and the labor class.

However, he conceded, the government should double efforts to achieve expected results.
