Syrian information minister: the Pope's visit to Quneitra aims at tracing Israeli crimes

The Syrian minister of information Adnan Omran said on Monday that the visit of Pope John Paul II to the Syrian city of Quneitra ( capital of the occupied Syrian Golan heights) is of great importance, where the Pope will trace " the extent of the ugliness of the Israeli crimes committees and are still committed in the occupied Arab territories."
Omran added in a meeting he made with the correspondents of the Arab and foreign media correspondents in Damascus to talks about preparations for the visit of the Pope and the measures taken to cover the events of this visit which will start on May 5 through 8.
The Syrian minister added that number of " journalists coming to cover the events of the Pope's visit is increasing on daily basis."
He explained that all sides concerned in Syria have been working to provide the visit of the Pope a success.
The Pope, however, will hold a prayer which will be transmit live on air at the Greek-Orthodox church in Quneitra which was destroyed by the Israeli forces before its withdrawal from the city after the October war between Syria and Israel in 1973.
