Saddam Hussein celebrates his 64th birthday

The Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on Saturday celebrate his 64th birthday amid a group of school children, at a time when southern Iraq was exposed to a new American- British attack that resulted in killing one and wounding two.

The Iraqi TV said that " Saddam Hussein attended the party of victory and amity for the children of Iraq on the occasion of his birthday."

The Iraqi TV added that the Iraqi president was hailed by the students who come from various public directorates of education all over the Iraqi provinces.

The TV continued that activities of the self-rule provinces of Kurdistan Iraq (Abil, Dahouk and al-Suleimanyeh) expressed the congratulations of our Kurd people to the President. The Iraqi news agency said that the celebration was marked by Saddam's cutting of the cake with a coupled music of " Happy birthday."

Tens of thousands of Iraqis gathered chanting slogans commemorating Saddam Hussein in a festival held in Takrit while Iraqi helicopters were flying.

The Iraqi news agency quoted Saddam Hussein as saying to a visiting guest from the government of White Russia that Iraq will be always away from the US and will not be dishonored by the West."

He said that keeping the Iraqi oil " out of control" of the US is behind the reason why his country is being exposed to continued siege.

During his meeting with the first deputy for the chairman of the White Russia Presidency Vladimir Zametalin, Saddam added that the US has controlled most of the oil ocean in the Middle East."
