Libya signs trade agreement with G-77

The minutes of the meetings were signed on Saturday evening between the chambers of commerce, industry and agriculture in Libya and the chamber of commerce and industry for the G-77 countries aims at supporting trade and investment in Africa.
The minutes of meetings state to convene a conference to support trade and investment in Africa including the ministers of finance and the economy and the chambers of commerce for the G-77, as well as holding an international trade exhibition for the group and this activity is to be held in Libya.
Chairman of the trade fairs commission for the chambers of industry and commerce at G-77 Tareq Saeed said that it was agreed with the chambers of commerce, agriculture and industry in Libya to draw the wide lines for cooperation in the area of industry, commerce and investment and to invest the resources of the African continent for the interests of its peoples.
The Group of 77 was established on 15 June 1964 by seventy-seven developing countries, signatories of the "Joint Declaration of the Seventy-Seven Countries," issued at the end of the first session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. Although the membership of the G- 77 has increased to some 135 countries, the original name was retained because of its historic significance.
