Some 15 world countries to transmit the prayer of the Pope in al-Quneitra

Preparations in Syria are underway for the visit of Pope John Paul II, in his first visit as the Vatican's Pope.
Meantime, Damascus said that 15 countries, including Lebanon will transmit the prayers the Pope will hold at the Greek-Orthodox church in the Syrian liberated city of al-Quneitra from the Israeli occupation when the Pope will visit Syria on May 5 through 8.
The director of the Syrian radio and TV station Fayes Zaegh said that that three Syrian TV station will transmit " live on air the prayer besides the welcome and farewell ceremonies of the Pope by President Bashar al-Assad at the airport, as well as the Pope's prayer at the Damascus Abbasid's sport Stadium," where number of the participants in this mass is expected to exceed 50,000.
Al-Saegh explained that some 15 countries will transmit the prayers the Pope will hold in Quneitra in the city's church which was destroyed by Israeli in 1973. The Pope will implant there the olive tree as an expression of peace.
Saegh continued that " every one of the 15 countries may use more than one TV station simultaneously, like Lebanon which will take part in covering the Pope's visit by several air and land TV stations."
Saegh said that Syria will be during the days to precede the visit of the Pope " open for all the press whose number is expected to exceed 1000 from outside the country and will work in a very free atmosphere."
