Baz rules out outbreak of war
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 4/24/2001
Egyptian Presidential Political Advisor Osama AL Baz said that the Israeli arrogance and contentiousness would be curbed in the coming stage.
In an interview with an Egyptian Television program telecast Sunday night, Osma EL Baz ruled out the outbreak of an all-out war as Israel realises that it would risk a lot if it took this move that would be the final nail in its coffin.
"The Israelis know very well that Egypt is supported and respected at world level and that it is the cornerstone of the peace process," he said.
"Without Egypt, neither peace nor stability would be brought about in the area" Baz noted.
"Israel's aggressions and attempts to intimidate the Palestinians will be of no avail," he said.
The policy of force with the Palestinians and Arabs will neither achieve security nor stop violence, he added.
He anticipated that the Israeli government would take some measures after realizing that this situation is completely rejected at Arab level and inadmissible at the international one.
