Arab League plans to counter Israeli infiltration into Africa
Regional-Israel, Politics, 4/24/2001

The Arab League (AL) assistant secretary general for political affairs Zakaraya Ismael has announced that the AL is preparing a plan to counter the Israeli infiltration into Africa.

In a statement to the Saudi daily al-Watan issued on Monday, Ismael added that reviving Afro-Arab cooperation with Africa will lead to withstanding the Israeli penetration in certain parts of the black continent.

Ismael asserted that still it is not late to support Afro-Arab cooperation in serving the interests of the two sides, noting the support given by the African states to the Arab causes, especially the peace process and the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab lands until June 4, 1967 border lines.

Worthy mentioning that Israel tries to invest the military aids it gives to certain leaderships in Africa in order to penetrate into the African continent and to prevent the African support to the Arab causes.
