Egypt, Australia promot economic partnership

Prime Minister of the Australian Queensland province Peter Beattie said the coming phase will witness a rise on bilateral trade and economic cooperation as Egypt's exports to the Australian market exceeded $ 400 million against imports worth $ 600 million.
He told reporters that he expressed his country's willingness to conclude a partnership agreement with the Egyptian government.
He added the volume of Australian investments in Egypt hit about $ 120 million mainly in oil industries and different agricultural projects.
He disclosed that he discussed with Egyptian officials launching an Egyptian Week in Queensland with the participation of businessmen who could with their products compete the foreign ones in the Australian market.
The Prime Minister indicated that he would consider during his visit expanding vistas of bilateral cooperation in information technology and software industry.
