Iraq refuses to take part in Tehran's conference on the Palestinian Intifada

Iraq has decided to refuse the invitation extended by Iran to take part in a conference to be held in Tehran about the Palestinian question, and this was " in protest of the Iranian missile bombardment against the Iraqi cities on April 18 resulted at least in killing 6 people."

The Iraqi daily al-Thawra ( the revolution) on Sunday quoted the chairman of the Iraqi national council Sadoun Hammadi in the session which was held on Saturday saying " this position ( not to attend the conference) comes in protest of the armed struggle launched recently by Iran against the Iraqi cities."

On April 12, Hammadi received an invitation from his Iranian counterpart Mahdi Karoubi to take part in the Islamic parliaments conference on the question of Palestine which starts its deliberations on tomorrow and will last for two days.

Iraq on Wednesday announced the cities " of al-Basra, al-Amara and al-Kout and Jaloula' was exposed to 56 missiles, resulted in the death of 6 citizens and wounding 31 others and causing various damages in the establishments and buildings. Iran fired these missiles at the bases of the movement for " Mujahidee khaleq, one of the major movements of the Iranian opposition, which is an armed movement with Iraq as a headquarters.
