Palestine-Israel, Politics, 4/23/2001
One Israeli settler was killed and other 50 were wounded in a violent explosion carried out by a Palestinian at Kfar Saba settlement to the North of Tel Aviv.
The Israeli police said that the operation was carried out by a Palestinian youth who was bearing an explosive belt among passengers who were preparing to get into a coach in the downtown of the settlement, adding that 7 of the wounded are in critical conditions, noting that a booby trapped car was found near the place of the operation and that Israeli experts could dismantle it amid intensive presence of the Israeli soldiers who sealed the area.
Meantime, the Israeli army forces controlled the house of the Palestinian citizen Salem Abu Houla, to the south of the city of Deir Balah to install a military observation point in the place.
Meanwhile, sources at the al-Makasid hospital in Jerusalem noted that there are evidence to prove that the Israeli forces are using depleted Uranium and internationally banned weapons in its aggression against the unarmed Palestinians. The director of the hospital noted that the Israeli forces use poisonous gases and shells that resulted in killing several palestinian children, women and the elderly.
On Sunday, the officer in the Palestinian army Madi Khalil Madi died because of previous wounds after he was wounded during Israel's bombardment of a position for the Palestinian presidency in Deir al-Balah last week.
Palestinian sources explained that officer Madi ( 25 year old) was hit by a missile launched from an Israeli position against a position to the Palestinian ( force no 17) and his wounds were serious.
At the Political level, the Israeli President Moshe Kitsav threatened those who execute the Kfar Saba operation and held the Palestinian Authority responsible for the explosion. He added no negotiations are accepted with the Palestinian authority under operations against Israel.
The Israeli mini cabinet met on Sunday, under the leadership of Ariel Sharon and discussed several reports submitted by the Israeli army chief of staff Sjaoul Moufaz and the chairman of the Israeli intelligence Amous Malka, mostly dedicated on Kfar Saba explosions.
The spokesman for Sharon Ranaan Gesein threatened the Palestinian Authority and held it totally responsible for the explosion and accused it of backing the Intifada and that " the executors will pay the price," he said.
