Bahrain, Politics, 4/21/2001

The Bahraini ambassador to Britain Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Mubarak al-Khaleifa said that 99 percent of the Bahraini who used to live abroad as an opposition force returned back to the country.

He stressed that the political changes currently taken place in the country resulted in the coming back of those opposition member, noting this will help the country to invest its efforts to withstand economic and developmental challenges.

In a press statement, the ambassador added that his embassy and other Bahraini embassies abroad offered necessary facilities to ensure urgent return back to all those who are governed by the Emir's Amnesty so as every body to be given the chance and for every Bahraini not to be excluded from the right to vote and so as no body in the future will be not able to vote on the referendum.

The ambassador indicates that all these measures are to enable former opposition members to take part in the coming general elections.
