Lahoud, al-Hariri and the Israeli aggressions
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 4/21/2001
The Lebanese President Emil Lahoud said on Friday that the Israeli threats and aggressions against Syria and Lebanon will not " prevent us from clinging to unwavering stances which are built on eliminating the Israeli occupation from the occupied Arab lands, the return back of the Palestinian refugees to their lands and releasing the detainees and prisoners held in the Israeli jails."
Upon presiding a meeting for the Lebanese Cabinet on Thursday evening, the Lebanese President added that without restoring back these rights, Israel has to know, clearly and definitely it will not take its security by means of force, what so ever aggressions it carried out and will, rather, be responsible for the results of its escalation.
For his part, the Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri said that since the election of Ariel Sharon as a prime minister, Israel has been pursuing a suicide policy which will not result in a solution, rather expand the cycle of tension and violence in the region.
Al-Hariri reiterated support for the Lebanese national resistance as far as Israel is occupying a Lebanese territories and practices ugliest crimes.
