Managers from Morocco's national telecommunication regulatory agency visit the U.S

Several managers from Morocco's National Telecommunication Regulatory Agency (Agence Nationale de Reglementation des Telecommunications/ ANRT) will pay a visit to the United States April 23-27, at the invitation of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The visit will provide opportunity for the Moroccan officials to have discussions with U.S. professionals on numerous technical issues and policies in the telecommunication field, a statement by the U.S. embassy in Rabat said.

Working sessions are scheduled with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Department of Commerce (DOC), and the National Telephone Cooperative Association (NTCA).

This study tour falls within the ongoing cooperation between ANRT and USAID, which is financed under the U.S.-North-Africa Economic Partnership (also known as the "Eizenstat Initiative") for the promotion of trade and investment among three Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia) and the United States.

The cooperation plan also includes practical training programs for ANRT technicians as well as jointly organized conferences and regional training workshops for telecom regulators.
