Ebeid stresses importance of Egypt-Kuwait Common interests

Ebeid held a meeting on Tuesday with members of the Kuwaiti Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, Ebeid stressed the importance of boosting joint cooperation between the two states.

He confirmed that the coming stage would witness major development in Egyptian-Kuwaiti trade relations. Ebeid added that officials in Egypt and Kuwait are convinced of the importance of providing the maximum degree of security to facilitate trade between the two states.

The long-term agreements to be signed between Egypt and Kuwait would deal with commodities and services, he added.

Meanwhile, Egyptian businessmen and bankers accompanying Ebeid expounded their experience to Kuwaiti investors, asserting that the Egyptian government is offering all facilities to promote the role of the private sector in the country.

They welcomed joint cooperation between businessmen from the two countries in carrying out joint ventures in the service of the entire region.

Kuwait and Egypt Tuesday signed an agreement on encouraging and protecting investments between both countries.

Wrapping up meetings of the Joint Egyptian-Kuwaiti Committee under the co-chairmanship of the two foreign ministers the two sides signed also the Executive Programme for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation until the year 2004.

Furthermore, Egypt and Kuwait are studying ways to enhance cooperation in the various judicial fields, an Egyptian Ministry of Justice official said Tuesday.

Counselor Serri Siam Assistant to the Minister of Justice told the press that Egypt and Kuwait held talks on the special , judicial relationship and cooperation in the legal, judicial fields and the exchange of expertise.
