Arab Gulf citizens spend $ 27 billion for foreign trips

A study issued on Sunday in Dubai said that the population of the six Arab Gulf states spend twice of the expenditures of the Europeans in their flights trips abroad, noting that they spent $ 27 billion in the year 2000 in this regard.
The study which was prepared by the " World Travel Monitor" group said that the people of the Gulf registered a standard number as 70% of the passengers stayed in luxury hotels at an average of 20 days for each persons.
The Saudis recorded 4.8 million flights abroad in the year 2000, and then the United Arab Emirates UAE people of 1.6 million trips, the Kuwaitis 1.3 million, the Bahraini people 400,000 and lastly the Qatari and the Omani 700,000 trips for the two countries.
Therefore the population of the Gulf region who total 27 million had held 8.8 million flights and stayed 200 million nights abroad.
