King Mohammed renews solidarity with Syria to end barbarous aggression
Morocco-Syria, Politics, 4/17/2001
Morocco's King Mohammed VI has renewed "firm solidarity" with Syria to put an end to "barbarous" aggression against the region.
"We renew our firm solidarity with you in order to put an end to the barbarous aggressions against your region, dear to our nation, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif and dear Palestine, and so that the spirit of Cohabitation, peace, friendship and concord prevail in the region," King Mohammed VI said in a message of congratulations he sent to President Bashar Al-Assad of Syria on the occasion of his country's national day.
The message also carried the king's best wishes of good health and happiness to President Bashar al-Assad and of more progress, prosperity and glory for the Syrian people.
King Mohammed VI lauded the achievements by Syria on the path of liberation and modernization and its perseverance in the defense of the causes of the Arab and Islamic ummah (nation) and implored God to help the Syrian leader liberate the Syrian spoiled territories.
The king, who hailed the excellent and solid ties of brotherhood binding Morocco and Syria, said "we are determined to work together to hoist our economic relations to the distinguished and remarkable level of our political ties."
