Israel reoccupied a portion of the Gaza strip

During the 24 hours, the Israeli forces continued its attacks against the Palestinian territories. The attacks resulted on Tuesday in killing 4 Palestinians and wounding 35.

The Palestinians were killed or wounded when the Israeli forces broke into vast areas of the Palestinian territories in Gaza , especially in Beit Yahoun and other areas supervised by the Palestinian Authorities. Scores of Israeli missiles were dropped at the Palestinian police and security forces and a position for the Palestinian "Force17" position near the coast of Gaza was destroyed. The Israeli tanks occupied several position in Beit Yahoun city and separated it from Gaza and Deir al-Balah as a first step to re- occupy the other parts of Gaza.

The Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Eleazer said that Israeli force do not intend to withdraw from areas in the sector, adding that this operation was approved by Sharon during the meeting of the Israeli mini-security cabinet.

Meantime, ten thousands of the Palestinian, despite the destruction made against their cities, went into the streets in the funeral of the officer in the Palestinian army who was killed by the Israeli forces ( Muhammad al-Masri). They chanted slogans against occupation and burnt the Israeli flags.

In the Palestinian territories of 1948 the Israeli forces arrested 8 Palestinians, while Bethlehem, Nablus and Hebron witnesses demonstrations on the "Palestinian prisoner day."
