Speaker of Belgian Senate Winds up Visit to Rabat

Speaker of the Belgian Senate, Armand De Decker, on Saturday wound up an official visit to Morocco, that was meant to enhance Moroccan-Belgian relations. De Decker, who had been received on Friday in Fez by King Mohammed VI, told reporters his talks with Moroccan officials were held in an atmosphere of "understanding and entente." He said Belgium will hold the chairmanship of the European Union as of next July, a fact that will enable to consolidate Morocco's relations with Belgium and with the EU in general.
During his visit, De Decker was received by King Mohammed VI and conferred with the Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi as well as with several members of the Moroccan cabinet, and the speakers of the two chambers of the Moroccan parliament.
