Christian communities in Syria celebrate the Easter

The Christian communities in Syria on Sunday celebrated the Easter ( the day of Jesus Christ Resurrection ) and prayers and masses were held and sermons were delivered at the country's churches.
At the Roman catholic Church in Damascus Patriarch Gregorious III Laham, Patriarch of Antioch and the All the East for the Greek- Catholic church gave masses on this occasion. In a sermon he made, Patriarch Laham underlined the sublime meanings of the Day in the human and social life which combines cooperation and understanding for the welfare and progress of the country. He hailed the country's approaching the national independence day on April 17th and the sacrifices rendered by the Syrian people for attaining freedom and independence from the French occupation forces,.
Similar sermons and masses were held by patriarch Mar Ignatius Zaka II of Antioch and all the East for the Syrian Orthodox church in the world; Archbishop Kenickle Djerjian, of the Orthodox- Armenian church in Damascus, Rev Bitrous Zaoor of the Anglican national Church in Damascus and Archbishop John Ibrahim of the Orthodox- Syriac church in Aleppo and many others.
