Documents defending Libyan convicted in the Lockerbie incident
Libya, Politics, 4/16/2001

The United Arab Emirate UAE al-Bayan daily issued on Saturday said that the lawyers who defend the Libyan citizen Abdul Baset al-Miqrahi have received information that will negate his links to exploding the Pan American plane over Lockerbie.

The paper quoted sources at Camp Zest in Holland ( where the trials are being made) that al-Miqrahi lawyer, William Taylor received secret documents from Amman and Damascus he submitted to the Scottish ministry of Justice to be reviewed by the new court board in the "Cassation" submitted against sentencing al-Miqrahi to life imprisonment over the Lockerbie issue.

The sources indicated that the delivered documents reveal the involvement of the People's Front For the Liberation of Palestine- General Command- led by Ahmad Jibril in the case. The sources continued that the " defendant" received the documents from the Syrian government on these information and about the activity of the front in bombing planes.
