IGAD summit to be held this month

The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael has announced that the IGAD's summit to discuss peace in Sudan will be held in this month. Ismael who was making press statements, did not state a certain date for this summit, but the executive secretary of IGAD's secretariat Atallah Hamad Bashir said that this summit will be held by the end of this month ( April) in Nairobi and will basically discuss means of halting the war in Southern Sudan. Hamad Bashir added that this meeting was taken in the joint meeting between IGAD's foreign ministers and IGAD's partners which was held in Rome in March.
Ismael indicated several efforts that have been made to halt the war in Southern Sudan, noting that certain western sides are trying to foil the peace process.
