Lahoud: we refused partial solutions

The Lebanese President Emil Lahoud has asserted his country's commitment to just and comprehensive peace and rejection of partial solutions. During his meeting on Thursday with the delegation of the US Congressmen led by Nick Rahall, the Lebanese President held Israel responsible for the stalemate on the peace process.
The Lebanese President discussed with the US Congress delegation current conditions in the region in light of the accelerated developments and Lebanon's position regarding them. Discussions also dealt with the position of the US administration regarding the Arab- Israeli conflict and what members of the visiting Congress delegation can make to make a change in this very American position.
Following his meeting with the Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri, the chairman of the Congress delegation Nick Rahall said that the delegation was briefed on conditions in the region and it will convey what it will see to members of the Congress.
Upon his arrival on Wednesday in Beirut, Rahall said in a press conference that co-operation between Syria and Lebanon should be always preserved and developed into remarkable relations.
He explained he will discuss the ME peace in the region with the high ranking Lebanese officials he will meet during his visit to Lebanon.
On the other hand, the Lebanese President on Thursday received a message from the Cypriot President Glavkos Clyredis, conveyed by his special envoy, ambassador Tassous Tseyounis.
The message dealt with issues of mutual concern on strengthening Lebanese- Cypriot relations in various fields.
The Lebanese President also received the Romanian deputy foreign minister and discussed with him means of strengthening bilateral relations in political, economic, social, cultural fields as well as the visit decided to be paid by President Lahoud to Romania by the beginning of May.
