Direct telephone contacts between Egypt, Sudan

The Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Sunday said that the Egyptian authorities have permitted direct telephone contacts between Egypt and Sudan.
The Sudanese daily added that this step comes in the course of a series of measures aiming at improving relations between the two states so as to maintain contacts between the two states especially among businessmen.
In 1995 Cairo banned direct telephone contacts between the two states following the tension erupted between it and Sudan.
