Israel bombards Gaza from the air, land and sea, 40 Palestinians wounded

The civil war continued against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza. The Palestinians retaliated by strong confrontation with the Israeli occupation forces, while the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon renewed continuity of the attacks and rejection of the international legitimacy resolutions.

News reports said that the Israeli bombardment destroyed several houses and positions for the Palestinian National Authority and this resulted in wounding 40 Palestinians. The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon said that the series of bombardment, assassination and hunger continued and announced at the same time rejection of international legitimacy resolutions and any talks dealing with the issue of Jerusalem.

Sharon announced a plan of five conditions, he called the red lines, that can not be surpassed to maintain a solution with the Palestinians. They are:

1. keeping the initiative in the hand of the Israeli army in the continued confrontation in the West Bank and Gaza.

2. keeping Jerusalem as a united capital for Israel and not to violate what he has called the security and historical rights of Israel in the West Bank and Gaza, with keeping the settlements under the Israeli sovereignty.

3. Israel's opposition to internationalize the conflict and to confine to direct solutions with the Palestinians

4. Linking any negotiations with the Palestinian authority to oppressing the Intifada;

5. The door might be kept open with the Palestinian authority if the Intifada will be foiled in order to continue the negotiations.

Sharon stressed that after he declared his plan that he gave instructions for his army to continue the policy of assassination against the Palestinian leading cadres, the maintenance of the emergency state, and expressed thanks to the Israeli settlers in the settlements for their military aids to the army in operations against the Palestinians.

In this regard, the Israeli occupation forces installed a new military position near Ramullah under the pretext of protecting the settlers in Ma'ale Adomim.

The Israeli ministry of the Interior Auzi Landao called for escalating the oppressive measures against the Palestinians and to continue striking the establishments and the infrastructure.
