Yemeni woman to take part for the first time in the coming government
Yemen, Politics, 4/4/2001
Political sources in Sanaa said that announcing the new formation of the government of Abdul Qader Bajmal, who was the deputy premier and the foreign minister in the previous Yemeni government will be delayed for several days.
The source noted in a statement to the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily that this postponement aims at giving the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the new prime minister Bajmal the greater opportunity to make intensive contacts to select the governmental team which will work with Bajmal. The sources explained that most of the ministers who were in the government of Abdul Karim al-Eryani will be out of the new ministerial formation.
The sources stressed that " young" faces will be predominant in the formation of the new government. The sources also stressed that women will be introduced to this new governmental formation. A matter which happens for the first time in the history of the country.
