The Egyptian- Jordanian higher committee

The Egyptian- Jordanian higher committee chaired by the two states prime minister Atif Obeid and his Jordanian counterpart Ali Abu al-Ragheb holds meetings of its 17th session in the last week of this month in Amman in order to discuss means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The Egyptian side will submit a proposal to the Jordanian side that the two sides are to establish with both Morocco and Tunisia a free trade zone in order to avoid the bottleneck of the " rule of origins" enforced in the Euro-Mediterranean agreements signed with these countries.
The preliminary committees will start intensive meetings in the mid of the current month in order to prepare the minutes of meetings which will be submitted to the higher committee. The minutes of meetings will include fields of bilateral co-operation, and scientific, cultural and tourism cooperation.
