Canadian agency assists Moroccan rural women associations

The Canadian Agency For International Development has handed out equipment to seven associations in the region of the southern Atlantic city of Agadir dealing with the promotion of women in the rural world.
The equipment, including sewing machines, tables and chairs, was handed to the associations at a ceremony over the weekend.
Canadian ambassador to Morocco, Mark Bailey, who attended the ceremony said through this solidarity gesture, the Canadian people seeks to contribute to improving the living standards of rural women.
Canada is contributing to several projects in the region of Agadir in the sectors of fishing, tourism and women's promotion and is participating in a number of training programs.
