Gas agreement between Qatar and India

An official source said on Sunday in Doha that Qatar signed two contracts relating to building a production unity for natural gas, in order to export it to India.
AFP said that the first contract was signed between " Raas Gas" company for liquid natural gas and the two Japanese companies " Sheyoda' and " Mitsoi" and the Italian company " Snambrogeti" company. The second contract was signed between the Qatari company and the American company " J. R Middle East," SANA reported.
The production unit will provide the Indian " Petronet" with natural gas as from the beginning of the year 2003.
In July 1999, the Indian company signed a contract with the Qatari company to buy 7.5 million tons of liquid gas in the year for 25 years, for the Indian states of Gojrat and Keirala.
