The Turkish- Iraqi oil pipeline

The Iraqi oil ministry secretary Taha Hamoud Yassin has announced that the current official talks between Iraq and Turkey concerning erecting of a natural gas pipeline from Iraq to Turkey has reached advanced stages to sign a joint agreement between the two countries to this effect.
The Turkish daily al-Jomoumhoreyah ( the Republic ) issued on Sunday quoted an official as saying that signing this agreement between the two countries will avail Iraq in the future to link the Iraqi gas network through Turkey by the European gas networking, noting that at the meantime Iraq owns high reserves of gas besides its high reserves of crude oil.
In November 200, the Iraqi authorities said it will hold talks with Turkish, French and Italian company to implement this project.
According to " Middle East Economic Survey) ( MEES) the agreement states to supply Turkey with amounts that might reach 10 billion cubic meters of Iraqi gas annually from five gas fields, which are al-Anfal, al-Mansoureyah; Jeryat Beka, al-Khashem Ahmar and Jamjal to the north of Iraq for 23 years.
