Spanish government delegate for foreigners and immigration in Rabat

The Spanish government delegate for foreigners and immigration at the interior ministry, Enrique Fernandez Miranda Y Lozana, is currently visiting Morocco for talks with Moroccan officials on issues of mutual concern.
The Spanish official conferred in Rabat Thursday with Moroccan minister of the Interior, Ahmed El Midaoui on questions of mutual concern.
The two sides underlined the excellent relations existing between Morocco and Spain and the level of cooperation between the two interior departments, a statement by the Moroccan ministry of the interior said.
Talks covered joint measures to improve the stay and work conditions of the Moroccan workers settled in Spain as well as the transit via Spain of Europe-settled Moroccans and means to struggle against illegal emigration webs.
The two officials also discussed the promotion of economic relations and the encouragement of Spanish investments in Morocco, mainly in the sector of tourism, the statement said.
On Wednesday, the Spanish official had held a similar meeting with Moroccan minister of employment, vocational training, social development and solidarity, Abbas El Fassi.
A statement by the employment ministry said the meeting is part of the consolidation of cooperation in matters of labor and social affairs, in conformity with the spirit of consultation and dialogue between the two countries, to organize labor emigration and promote the social welfare of Moroccan expatriate workers.
During the meeting, El Fassi expressed satisfaction at the increase of Spanish investments in Morocco.
