American official calls for separating employment and environment issues from trade agreements
Egypt-USA, Economics, 3/29/2001
Elizabeth Heinz, the official in charge of legal and commercial aids in the American Commercial Commission, called for separating employment and environment issues from free trade agreements. She asserted that such issues constitute meaningless obstacles, as the conditions of developing countries should be taken into consideration.
She also stressed the importance of reviewing the attitudes of the American government and the International Trade Point regarding the free trade agreement with Egypt.
