Arab summit welcomes Annan's nomination for a new term of office

The Arab League (AL) council at the summit level has issued a statement at the final session of the summit conference on Wednesday in which it expressed appreciation for the efforts exerted by the UN chief Kofi Annan towards settling disputes, the peaceful means and the establishment of world peace and security.

The statement added that due to Anna's contributions to achieving just peace in the Middle East on the ground of international legitimacy resolutions and implementation of UN resolutions concerned, the AL council announces support to re-electing Annan as the UN secretary general for a second new term of office.
