Abu Dhabi hosts coming Arab summit in 2002
United Arab Emirates-Regional, Politics, 3/26/2001
The coming Arab summit will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2002.
This came in the draft final communique of the Arab summit to convene in the Jordan capital, Amman, March 27-28.
The extraordinary Arab summit held in Cairo last October had recommended that an Arab summit be held every year in March in an Arab capital on a rotation basis.
The document also states that Arab foreign ministers have unanimously approved the candidacy of Egyptian foreign minister, Amr Moussa, to the post of Secretary General of the Arab League.
