An Arab official and Amman's summit

A high ranking Arab official told the London- based al-Hayat daily in its Friday's issue that the question of Iraq as " a reconciliation with Arab states" has receded but advanced as a debated problem to be discussed at the coming Arab summit in Amman.

He added that there is a general Arab consensus on that the priority of the Arab summit is how to confront the Middle East crisis and developments necessitated by the policies pursued by Ariel Sharon.

The Arab official (who was not identified) explained it is ruled out that the Arab summit will not open the Iraqi case in the framework of a comprehensive Arab summit and that there are an agreement on the need to avoid the dangers of differences over the Iraqi crisis so as the summit will not by a forum of accusations between Iraq and its neighbors.

He referred that more than one Arab summit including Cairo, Damascus and Amman had got an Iraqi consent not to impose the Iraqi crisis at the agenda of the summit and that the Iraqi side agreed to the priority to the cause of Palestine.
