Morocco-France, Economics, 3/21/2001
French secretary of state for tourism, Ms Michelle Demessine, is to pay an official visit to Morocco March 26-28 at the invitation of Moroccan minister of economy, finance, privatization and tourism, Fathallah Oualalou. The visit will provide opportunity to carry on the talks initiated last January during Ms Demessine's visit to the Moroccan Southern city of Agadir where she attended a congress of French tour operators, a statement by the French embassy in Rabat said.
Talks will focus on the reactivation of French-Moroccan tourism cooperation, based on the 1996 accord and will also touch on eco-tourism, regionalization of means and structures and vocational training, the statement said.
The number of French tourists having visited Morocco in 2000 neared one million.
