Al-Assad gets a message from Iranian counterpart

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday received a a message from the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami and the Iranian leadership. The message was conveyed by the Iranian foreign minister Kamal Kharazi in the presence of members of the accompanying Iranian delegation.
Talks dealt with the situations and developments in the region as well as bilateral relations. The meeting was attended by the Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara and the Iranian ambassador in Damascus.
