Lebanese foreign minister is expected to resign

The Saudi daily Okaz expected the resignation of the Lebanese foreign minister Mahmoud Hamoud before the convening of the coming Arab summit in Amman for health reasons.

The paper added quoting sources in Beirut that the Lebanese Minister is heading for resignation because he can not carry out his tasks for health reasons, noting that doctors who made recently a surgery advised him to take a long rest.

Okaz explained that it was assured that Hamoud will not take part in the Lebanese delegation to the Arab delegation which convenes in Amman next Tuesday. A matter which most expectedly to resign before this summit.

The paper said that there are several names proposed to succeed Hamoud and that the speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri nominates the director general of the Expatriates ministry Haitham Jumaa while the name of Lebanon's ambassador in one African states from Mustafa family is also debated.
