Libya, and the US and Britain
Libya-USA, Politics, 3/21/2001

The Libyan representative at the UN Abu Zeid Dardara stressed on Monday his conviction that both Britain and the US are acting with good intention towards the talks aiming at clarifying how Tripoli can end the organized sanctions imposed on Libya following the explosion of the Pan American plane over Lockerbie in Scotland.

News reports said that Dardara stressed after the most recent meeting with the US ambassador James Kingham and the British ambassador Jeremi Greenstock that knowing each other day after day would lead to implanting necessary confidence among them better than before.

The three men met twice since Scottish judges gave their verdict on January 31st by condemning Abdul Basit al-Miqrahi, one of the Libyan convicted in the question of Lockerbie and held the other accused man Elamine Khaleifah Fheimah.
