Saudi Arabia, Qatar draw final borders
Saudi Arabia-Qatar, Politics, 3/19/2001

The Saudi minister of the Interior prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz has announced that Saudi Arabia and Qatar will shortly sign a final border demarcation agreement.

In a statement he made on Sunday, prince Nayef said that the question of borders with Qatar has been finalized by demarcation on the land signed by all technicians and specialists in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, adding that the Saudi foreign minister Saud al-Faisal and Qatar's foreign minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem al-Thani will sign the agreement shortly in Doha.

The declaration to signing this agreement comes after the release of the decision of the International Court of Justice on settling the disputes between Qatar and Bahrain.

On June 7, 1994 Saudi Arabia and Qatar signed the maps which include final demarcation of joint borders, drawn by a joint technical committee.
