Qaddafi: African federation will change the map of the continent
Libya, Politics, 3/19/2001

Libyan President Muaammar al-Qaddafi has expressed his conviction that the African federation which was established in March 2000 will change the map of Africa, calling on the Libyans to " realize this fact in their political and economic behaviors."

In a speech he delivered on Sunday, before the Libyan general people's congress al-Qaddafi stressed that the coming years will witness further African inter-merging and elimination of borders created by colonialism and the establishment of one African defense system, parliament and bank.

Al-Qaddafi, on the other hand, met with heads of Arab and African parliamentary delegations who took part in the meetings of the Libyan people's general conference. Heads of these delegations stressed their support for Libya to definitely lift the embargo imposed on it.
