Morocco-Maghreb, Politics, 3/17/2001
Morocco will participate in the follow-up committee of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA), due to start this Saturday in the Algerian capital city.
The committee will prepare for a meeting of the UMA foreign ministers, due on Monday in Algiers.
Morocco is represented in the Saturday meeting by Mohamed Rachad Bouhlal, Secretary-General of the foreign affairs and cooperation department.
Four sectoral commissions have already met in a bid to revive the structures of UMA, a regional grouping set up in 1989 by Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania.
