Sharon to ask the US to tighten sanctions on Syria

The Israeli daily Haartez said in its Friday's issue that the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon will ask during his meeting with the US President George Bush on March 20 in Washington to tighten sanctions on Syria, according to the Israeli radio.
The radio, according to the Israeli paper that Sharon will introduce the new Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as playing with fire and threatens regional stability in the Middle East, as the radio claimed.
Haartez added that Sharon also intends to ask the US to warn Lebanon from that its name might be also listed among the terrorism supporting state if it continues to back Hizbullah.
